Rep. Larsen wasted no time in contacting USDOT Secretary Ray LaHood and asking for some of the $2.4 billion in passenger rails grant funds being returned by Florida, announced yesterday.

Washington state is "well-positioned to use these funds on ready-to-go projects that will create jobs," Larsen told LaHood.

Washington received an additional $161 million when Wisconsin and Ohio returned passenger rail grant funds.
